This high quality, die cast German manufactured oil filter wrench is the same wrench used by Porsche technicians, made by the same OEM German manufacturer that supplies Porsche, and it is sold by Porsche dealers as Porsche "Doppelsteckschlussel" (Double Socket Wrench) P/N 000 721 920 40 for about US$50 plus local tax, and often it is not in stock, backordered, and special order. This is the wrench recommended by Porsche for 1997-2012 996 997 Boxster/S, 2006-2012 997 Cayman/S, 1998-2012 911 996 997 Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Turbo, 955 957 958 Cayenne, 970 Panamera. We recommend however, that you measure your oil filter housing to be sure before purchasing.
This wrench also fits most 1984 and newer gasoline powered Mercedes-Benz, equivalent to Mercedes P/N 103 589 02 09 00, 1996 and newer BMW with the M44 engine, also many VW and Audi models from mid 1990s to current.
This wrench fits plastic housing based oil filters with the removable element on so many German made cars, that we haven't been able to compile anywhere near a complete list. We highly recommend that you measure the outside of your oil filter housing with an accurate ruler or caliper to be sure it's correct before you buy. The housing should measure 76mm (3 inches in diameter), and have 14 flats (flutes) around the perimeter. A caliper measurement of the inside diameter of the wrench is shown in the illustration. This die cast wrench is designed to work with the 76mm housings, it won't slip, and it is manufactured to last. The large hex on the outer surface of the wrench fits a 27mm or 1 1/16" socket, either 3/8 or 1/2" drive. This item is for the circular die cast oil filter wrench only and does not include a socket wrench, extension, or torque wrench. Those you supply. It is wise to use this oil filter wrench with a torque wrench to drive it when reinstalling the oil filter housing. Porsche recommends a torque wrench setting of 19 foot pounds (25Nm).

This economy steel oil filter wrench works with most Porsches, many Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, and VWs with the removable element and 76mm 14 flute filter housing. This steel wrench will do the job well, but typically it will wear out after several uses. We ship same day whenever possible.
